Theater Unspeakable Company Class
“The Magnificent Seven” Winter Intensive
This winter, Theater Unspeakable (TU) is offering a ten-week winter intensive where seven participants will go on a deep exploration of our Lecoq-based devised, physical theater storytelling approach. The course will build towards the creation of an original piece of contemporary devised, physical theater. Along the way, participants will learn about Masks, Physical Imagination Movement Work, Physical Characterization as well as several Ensemble Devised Theater techniques: Platform, Quick-Change and Group Storytelling. The weekly classes will culminate in a final weekend presentation open to the public.
TU’s Artistic Director Marc Frost will lead the course. Marc studied with disciples of Jacques Lecoq at the London International School of Performing Arts and has been teaching physical theater in the Chicago area for the past 8 years. As the founder of TU, he has directed and produced several original devised, physical theater shows and toured them around the country for hundreds and thousands of young audiences. Marc will occasionally be joined by long-time TU company members who will also add their voices to the intensive at key moments.
Class size is limited to 7 participants.
