The Chicago Alliance of Visual Artists (CAVA) is seeking qualified individuals from the Chicagoland area to participate on its executive board. As a key member in this volunteer position, you would be responsible for shaping and growing the organization. CAVA is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization dedicated to helping visual artists aged 50+ expand their horizons, promote their art, and grow their practice. We are currently celebrating our 30th year. We now have about 150 member artists throughout the greater Chicagoland area. The size of our board ranges from 9 to 11.

Your participation would include the following:

  • Attending a 1-2 hour board meeting roughly once a month.
  • Volunteering to use your skills in committee (key areas are marketing, accounting, outreach, fundraising and/or administrative).
  • Assisting with a variety of annual exhibitions, member get-togethers, educational events and more.
Skills & Qualifications: 

Desirable (but not essential) skills & qualifications: 

  • Familiarity with the local visual arts scene
  • Prior experience as a board member
  • Marketing
  • Organizational development
  • Accounting
  • Grant writing
  • Social media
  • Website development
  • Willingness to commit to at least 5 hours a week of board-related work
